Viber Confirms BlackBerry 10 Client with Voice – Legacy BlackBerry Devices Still Getting Voice

Viber BlackBerry

Viber has been promising to add voice VoIP calling to their BlackBerry Java app for awhile now. With that said we have already been told by BlackBerry that Viber is working on a BlackBerry 10 client. Now Viber has confirmed as much to TruTower (via BBEmpire). They confirmed that while they do not have a timeframe a BlackBerry 10 client is in development and “should take less than the time it took us to deliver Viber for the previous generation BB devices.” They also confirmed that it will support Voice calls on day one along with other features found on Android and iOS. They also confirmed that Viber is still on track to deliver voice calling to legacy Java BlackBerry devices which they promised for next month.

  1. Is it as bad as Whatsapp in terms of privacy violation? Is it possible to use the app without having to send our address book anywhere?
