I am not usually one who likes to repeat analyst statements but this one was a bit different. Barrons is reporting that analyst Paul Peterson of BlueFin sent out a note that it “appears that management is confident that the BB10 launches will be an unqualified success.” They are basing this on a reports from parts suppliers for the BlackBerry Z10. According to these unnamed suppliers there has been a “significant surge in orders in the past 30 days.”
Peterson went on to say that:
“Our checks indicate that some suppliers are seeing 6-month order coverage that is several orders of magnitude larger than the previous 6 months, with some suppliers believing that they can get back to 2011 revenue levels if the present forecast levels hold up.”
I have been hearing about a huge uptick from carriers who are ordering more devices to fill the channel in preparation for launch. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out.
