I grew up loving hip-hop like I love technology now. I felt like I  was the only kid in Reno in ’89 who knew and owned cassette tapes from EPMD, Boogie Down Productions, Eric B & Rakim and so on. There was just something about hearing an EPMD track get cut-up on In Living Color while the fly girls taught me that chivalry would never die with me. It was all the part of a culture, one that would never lose me. Hip-hop then and music now lights a fire in many of us.

Rocking some Tecnics SL 1200’s was a fantasy that a below middle class kid could only imagine. The protect vinyl movement was huge in many of the big cites, but who knew record stores would become a thing of the past too? When I first heard that Pioneer had come out with some CDJ turntable I thought wow, this I could save up for! It never occurred to me that one day analogue music could be controlled through CD’s and recreate what being a DJ was.

The moment I heard about this app was one of those seconds in life where I thought, you go BlackBerry! Many will argue that they’d rather use a computer application or something else. But until you start using this app on PlayBook or the BlackBerry Z10 your opinion means very little to me. The price is incredibly low for something of this magnitude. I’d recommend getting the version for both PlayBook and Z10, but if you only have a Z10 then check Pacemaker out!
