BlackBerry has been pushing their Built for BlackBerry program for developers and the fruits are starting to pay off for those devs. BlackBerry has put up a new Built for BlackBerry section on the top of BlackBerry World for all BlackBerry 10 owners. That is some premium placement that will definitely up the downloads for those apps. BlackBerry also made it clear that soon the only apps in the featured carousel will be Built for BlackBerry apps.
Sadly I was hoping to see a sort of Built for BlackBerry “Badge” on the apps but sadly that is not here yet:

This happened much quicker than I thought given how slowly things move with BBWorld.
They need to quickly catch up with the rest of the app stores.

I’m wondering what do people think about having apps look all the same, no matter who the vendor is, because unless you’re Facebook or Twitter, that’s what the label means.

This makes me feel sad. Blackberry should put.some kind marker to distinguish between Android ported apps and the ones Built just for Blackberry.

There is a BB badge, look closely at the icons.

I did see that but it seemed inconsistant. I thought it was up to the dev to put that there since it does not show up on many apps.

There is a difference between a native app and a “built for bb” app. Are you sure the badge is missing from an app who you know has been certified?

Take that Nobex screenshot above. Where is its badge?

What release date do you have for the app in BBW? On the dev alpha it’s august 2012. If it’s the same, I’m guessing the label is going to be put on the next update.
If not, then I have no explanation 😀

Good point I didn’t think of that. I thought it was just an overlay on their icon.

I did a quick check. All those missing the overlay were released last year.
The Nobex banner now has it, but the icon is still missing it.
They must be trying to catch up?
