BlackBerry has continued its regular updates to the WebWorks SDK out of band with the other BlackBerry 10 SDKs. The latest update for February brings the much needed payment service to WebWorks developers allowing one time and subscription payments. They have also added better support for BBM social APIs. Last but not least they now have the popup blocker disabled by default in WebWorks apps while offering you the ability to turn it back on. Now we just need the advertising service and tie in with some big ad partners.

Finally! I can’t believe that 3 years after having introduced the Playbook, they still haven’t figured out how to bring ads to HTML apps… Nobody but BlackBerry is serving ads for the platform. By hacking you can serve ads for Android, the mobile web, etc. Really bad for end users…

Yeah it is a real shame though they need to find a way to tie into some bigger ad companies. Maybe find a way to push Google to make an SDK.

And the day that Google SDK comes out, we’ll be very close to a Google Maps release

The only question is if we are dreaming or if it is a possible reality
