Apollo brings Pandora to the BlackBerry Z10

downloadOne of my most used apps on my Z10 has to be Apollo. Ronen mentioned it a few months ago when it was released on the PlayBook.  It brings Pandora in to its own app with a great interface.  Now some could say that I could just use the browser and go to Pandora.com.  But I prefer apps when available. The other great thing is that this was a port from WebOS showing us just how easy it is to get apps in to the new BlackBerry 10 environment.

Here are a full list of its features

  • Creation of new Pandora accounts
  • Sign in with existing Pandora accounts
  • Creation/Deletion of stations
  • Bookmark management (bookmark current/recent song/artist, view/delete bookmarks)
  • Like/Dislike of songs
  • Skip current song (6 skips/hr/station)
  • Viewing of recent tracks for each station
  • Create station from current song/artist, recent song/artist, bookmark song/artist
  • Put song to sleep for one month
  • Links to browse music on Amazon.com
  • Sorting of stations by name or date of creation
  • Viewing of current song artist biography
  • Explanation of why current song is playing
  • Settings: audio quality, selectable backgrounds, application timeout, toggle auto-play station on app startup, statistics

  1. Does it work better on Z10 than the Playbook? I find it kind of buggy on the playbook.

  2. Wonder why Blackberry didn’t just get Pandora as an Android port.

  3. Ronen, I don’t remember you mentioning the native BB10 music player in you otherwise very thorough review of BB10. Does it have a carousel view of your songs like the BB7 does? Is there a way you play and pause the music player, even when it’s minimized into an active frame?
