Global BlackBerry Q10 Launch Reconfirmed for April – Still No ETA for the US

One of the questions I get asked frequently is when the keyboard BlackBerry 10 is coming. BlackBerry went on record during the launch event that the BlackBerry Q10 keyboard model would be starting its global launch in April but they did not go into specific month for the US. This led to some rumors that the BlackBerry Q10 launch was delayed to May or even June especially in the US.

Thankfully BlackBerry has confirmed to TechRadar that the BlackBerry Q10 GLOBAL launch will begin in April. Specifically they said that:

"We expect the first global carriers to launch the BlackBerry Q10 in April. We will announce new pricing and availability information as carriers roll out around the world. We are working closely with our carrier partners to accelerate their testing process, but cannot offer any specifics on US availability."

Essentially that means BlackBerry is holding true to their six to eight week timeline after the Z10 launch for the Q10. On the other hand it looks like BlackBerry does not yet have hard deadlines for the Q10 in the US.

  1. It bad enough they are delaying the Z10 in the States. they should make sure the Q10 is launched at the same time as the rest of the world

    • I totally agree…so ATT spends billions on upgrades and can’t meet a simple deadline!!!
Makes me wonder if it’s the carrier or BlackBerry…
And then again, BlackBerry just washed their hands clean from this so it’s back to the carriers…
