One of my absolute favorite features of BlackBerry 10 is the keyboard. They promote they keyboards flicking word gestures but what really shines is the auto correction. If you stop looking at the keyboard and just trust that it is auto correcting you can get it right 98% of the time. If you correct it then it learns from your mistakes. I do still use the word flicking gestures for one handed typing but I ran into something interesting with the latest OS update I applied right before launch…
The keyboard has always been very good at splitting up two words accidentally typed together but since the update I have found it suggesting whole sentences. Its like the device has a mind of its own! RIM was not kidding that it learns from your behavior though they might need to tune it down just a little bit. I wish there was a way to teach it when something is a bad suggestion but using a different option will usually override it in the future.
If you have a BlackBerry 10 device or Dev Alpha updated let us know what you are thinking of the keyboard!
PS:I like how the latest update added some new words like Thorsten Heins and when you type BlackBerry your next options are Q10 or Z10.

Who knows maybe the first set of units shipped with bunch of dev related phrases. Like you said, it is supposed to learn more as you type so if you suddenly started talking about fixing cars, axles and engine blocks, eventually it would start completing stuff like oil change, wiper blades, windshield..
Maybe you should talk about other stuff a bit more.

I dunno. All I typed was “Yup” or “Yeah” and got way more than I expected. I think it would be cool if it had some easter eggs

Remember the spell check in Word 97 where if you typed in “I wish Bill Gates were dead” and then checked the thesaurus, it would say “I’ll drink to that”.

It says I’m not registered? I’ve tried to, but it will not recognize my password? I tried to send you or Ronen a private message, but it keeps saying the address can’t be found? Any ideas?

Where does it say you are not registered? I had to take down the PM option since it was being used for spam. Trying to rejigger it.

I must not be reading the post info correctly. Right before Registered in Red it says Not. Maybe that is not what NOT means? Also my typing in here is lagging again.

I don’t like the fact that it learns passwords and that we can’t edit the list. It’s all or nothing… and I really hope the language switcher is still present on the Q10, it will be better than using autotext in 3 different languages because it can’t predict the next word in all 3 languages.

If you type in RIM, does it auto correct to BlackBerry?
