RIM was kind enough to give us early access to the BlackBerry Link software for managing and synchronizing your BlackBerry 10 device. Link replaces RIM’s old BlackBerry desktop software for BlackBerry 10. This new software helps you synchronize your pictures, videos, documents, and music with your device. The Windows version can even do the sync over Wi-Fi. On top of that you can do device backups and restores through the system. You also have the option to update your device or help you switch devices or upgrade from a BlackBerry 7 or older device to BlackBerry 10. Check out the features below. I will do the Windows version first.
The new software immediately offers you the option to switch devices easily to BlackBerry 10.
BlackBerry Link is now hooked up to your BlackBerry ID.
You also get to select what media and documents on your BlackBerry 10 device you want synced to your computer.
You can turn off the wireless sync over Wi-Fi which is currently in beta as far as I know.
And the Sync options
This is the main screen once you log in
And another shot
There is nothing crazy new in BlackBerry Link though it is much much faster than BlackBerry Desktop software. You clearly can tell that RIM has overhauled the software. It should be available shortly!
Here is my OS updating on my BlackBerry Z10 through desktop manager:

I am currently running BlackBerry Link v 1.0.1.17. In discussion with RIM techs, the representation that this synchs from PC to Z10 is mis represented. What they neglect to tell you is that it does this only once. After the intital “Synch” no further changes in your PC Outlook data will be transfered to your Z10.
They said they are woking on the 2way synch capability that was there for the Desktop Manager, but I have not seen nor heard of any release date. RIM Needs to get this working or one of the primary reasons for using Blackberry anything is to be able to synch with Outlook.

It was supposed to be in the last 1.1 release but it did not make the cut. Its coming in the next release. We should hear more next week.
