BlackBerry has hit their 70,000+ mark for apps in BlackBerry World for BlackBerry 10. They have highlighted some of the top ones at the launch event including Amazon Kindle which I dig. They also confirmed the Skype is committed to developing for BlackBerry 10 along with WhatsApp coming soon. They also listed the following companies as running on BlackBerry 10. They hit their target of getting the lionshare of the main 1,000 apps used across the world onto BlackBerry 10. Sadly Netflix is not on the list…

60k+ apps are of poor quality. It takes a lot of effort to reach the good ones, unless they come from big brands.

Are you serious? On what basis can you say that? Perhaps you can say that 60,000+ apps may not be useful to you, but to call them “poor quality” is just disrespectful of the efforts many of these developers have made.

On the basis that I’m browsing BBW right now.
And I’m not talking about usefulness. We all have different ways to use our phones and not all services are available everywhere.
Just take a look for yourself and be amazed at the number of MyFirstApp, MyStolenAndroidApp, MyPackagedHTML5Demo, etc.
Unfortunately, there isn’t always a correlation between effort and quality of the delivery, even if I respect the time every dev put into trying to release apps for the new platform

Blackberry say that Skype and Whats App are coming , but when ? . I’ve got my Z10 this week here in the Uk and its a great phone which we have all been waiting for quite some time . But you’d have thought that Blackberry would have sorted the App side of things out before they launched the phone.

i was running to buy the Z10, it was the ideal phone for me in order to have the combination of smart phone and business phone, and i was really dissapointed not being able to have the skype, Tango, Viber, Whatsapp… if i don’t get them i will definitely drop back the phone. everybody is saying that this is the last chance for rim, if they don’t fix it, bye bye BB.
