Good morning everyone. I thought I would share a fun story of panic and relief that happened to me this morning. Last night when I got home from work I exited my car with Playbook in hand. I had to go get the garbage can and recycling boxes from the curb, so, I put down my Playbook on the roof of my car. It stayed there. ALL NIGHT.
Temperatures reached about -25 C last night in Vaughan, Ontario, just north of Toronto.
I found the Playbook this morning outside and panicked. I brought it back inside and let it thaw for 30 minutes. I pressed the power button with fear, but, when the red light came on I had a rush of relief. Then when the BlackBerry Playbook logo popped up on the screen I was overjoyed.
So yes, my Playbook survived a night outside at -20C!!!

Wow! Lucky you. I’ve had my car broken into in Vaughan. Ok, I did leave it unlocked by mistake. I guess you’re lucky you had a black Playbook and not a white iPad.

yeah black on black, no one would have seen. Also, with those temps, I doubt anyone was out roaming the streets lol

And it didn’t get stolen. O Canada! Was it in a case?
Really glad you have it back and its working. Which makes me think RIM should make BB Protect PlayBook compatible for those who aren’t as lucky as you.

yes it was in the booklet case. I would think with BB10 they would make it available on the Playbook
