Now that RIM has pulled back the veil on BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 we can take a look at its capabilities. They have published all of the documentation for what is called BlackBerry Device Service 6.2 for managing BlackBerry 10 devices. This new version introduces a bunch of new IT Policies that are sure to intrigue enterprises worried about security. RIM has published the whole IT Policy reference guide for BlackBerry 10 in PDF form at the link below:
- BlackBerry Device Service 6.2 IT Policy Reference Guide PDF
- BlackBerry Device Service 6.2 IT Policy Reference Spreadsheet (xlsx)
RIM has also mentioned the IT Policy capabilities of BlackBerry 10 on iOS and Android in the BlackBerry Service 10 Datasheet PDF here at the end of the document.

A couple of interesting tidbits to take out of this…
1) This pretty much confirms the expectation that we’d see video chat and doc sharing in BBM. That wasn’t really in doubt, but since there’s a policy in BES10 to regulate it that’s all the confirmation I need.
2) “Smart Password Entry”… hmm?
3) Blackberry Bridge… now we don’t know how this policy might apply to an iOS or Android device running Balance, but could it really be that an iPhone user could bridge a Playbook to their work account? Interesting…

Hey Brett nice to see someone who reads it as in depth as I do. Keep in mind only the second document lists the iOS and Android policies.
