BlackBerry 10 “Live Port Challenge” @ AT&T Hackathon in Vegas This Week!

 AT&T Developer Summit 2013

One of my buddies at RIM let us know that they are taking part in RIM’s AT&T Developer Hackathon in Vegas this week. It will be taking place at the AT&T Dev Summit on Jan 5&6 in Vegas and will have over $50,000 in prizes up for grabs. If you are going to be in the area I would recommend registering. Even more interesting is the “AT&T API for BlackBerry 10 Live Port challenge.” They are trying to get users to complete a port and test a BlackBerry 10 app using the AT&T API to be eligible for prizes. Details below for the RIM challenge along with all the details for the many prizes available at this link:

Come help make AT&T API available on BlackBerry 10! Be part of open source history and participate in the AT&T API for BlackBerry 10 “Live Port” challenge! Using the iOS version of the AT&T API as reference, complete the port and build the best BlackBerry 10 app leveraging the AT&T API and be eligible for prizes including a trip to BlackBerry Jam Europe in Amsterdam! There will be plenty of help onsite to help with any question you may have. Are you up to the challenge?

What’s involved:

  • All participating teams contribute to porting AT&T API for BlackBerry 10
  • Each team builds their “best app” using the API with the BlackBerry Native SDK
