We have been hearing rumors about BlackBerry 10 packing some nice hardware. Now BBin has scored a screenshot from a BlackBerry Z10 device showing off 2GB of RAM on the device. Who knows if this will be seen in the final hardware but that should all be finalized shortly as they go into full production.

It has to be 2GB RAM to be competitive in H1/2013.
You can’t keep that many apps open on the dev alpha and it’s really annoying.

Absolutely, RAM will be essential in the next generation device.

Nice one RIM… Make me even more desperate to get a BB10…
2 questions though… Did they change the limit of 8 apps to as many as memory can handle? Can we “pin” apps so they are always on the top?

I think they are keeping those two limits for now

It is sooooo annoying… I just hate going back to the homescreen only to find it empty or without some of the apps I was using, especially since launching non-native apps takes forever.

Though I have been hearing rumors of a “Service app” that was on github that allows apps to run as a service at boot.

What about internal storage? I have thousands of pictures that I hate to have on a memory card and 16GB would serve well, 32 would be ideal in my book.

AFAIK, the new devices have an SD card slot.

Is it HC or XC SDs?

Consider the cloud for those libraries of photos. I backup everything I have but the cloud serves me well. I don’t have to carry much locally, and it’s always available unless I’m roaming. Sharing between devices is also far easier.

Ditto, but RIM or someone really needs to release a DLNA player for BB10

RIM is a member of DLNA, so yeah, BB10 is DLNA compatible!

That doesn’t mean squat as far as the player is concerned. They have a server on BB7, so great we can show our pictures and videos on a compatible TV, but we still can’t watch anything stored on the DLNA servers.
