RIM had just been named as a defendant in another patent struggle. Thus time we have yet another notorious patent troll Wi-Lan sing RIM. RIM is not alone in this with Wi-Lam targeting practically every one with their patent infringement allegations. They are suing over U.S. Patent No. 6,260,168 which covers Bluetooth implementations so anything with Bluetooth is fair game. It looks like this patent madness is just going to get worse.

So, does that mean BlackBerry 10 would still be on schedule in 2013?

Nothing will be stopping BB10. Too many folks are implicated here. Business won’t stop.

Well Wi-Lan lost one of their cases already vs. LG Electronics. Today the Appeal court in NY affirmed the lower NY State court that LG Electronics did not infringe upon Wi-Lan’s V chip technology.
Guess Wi-Lan needs to make their annual income numbers and is now sueing everyone and their dog to try and achieve it.

Yeah this is their income stream as a parasite. It will have no effect on BlackBerry 10
