If you are a developer and want to get your hands on the latest hardware before BB10 is released, listen up! RIM has given away over 7500 Dev Alpha devices since BlackBerry Jam in Orlando last May. The initial wave of the Dev Alpha C will have 1500 devices available to devs who submit 2 or more applications and have the most points as determined by the following point system:
- 50 points for ported Android applications
- 250 points for all other applications (Native, BlackBerry® WebWorks™, Adobe AIR)
- 1,500 points for Built For BlackBerry certified application
- 200 points to start for BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha A/B recipients
- 200 points to start if you are a BlackBerry Elite Member
The offer runs from December 1, 2012 through February 5, 2013…which should be very close to the actual release date for the devices.
