I am not sure what took them so long especially after updating the design guidelines for BlackBerry 10 but it is now official. As we told you before RIM has changed the icons for BlackBerry 10 to 114×114 instead of the previous boxy 150×150. I really like the lack of straight lines now so I have to say it is a move in the right direction. RIM is also recommending devs now use a silhouette and lighting/drop shadow to make their icon pop. Check out the details in the BlackBerry 10 Design Guidelines.

This is an excellent move and it shows BlackBerry is responsive to the input of its’ core supporters.

As opposed to the past when many felt they were ‘rotten to the core ‘. 😉

I am hoping they use Interactive Frames (as shown on the Crackberry Brainstorming BB10 feature). I’d like to see a setting for Backround apps where you can set you favorite go to apps where the info will appear on the lockscreen (Weather, Stocks, RSS feed, You tube, Media player, Calendar, etc) and be able to see the info without clicking on it and be able to tap on it to access it immediately.

I don’t recall RIM being that responsive to developers…ever, I could be wrong but I like the new direction now.
