Taiwan Manufacturers Start Working on BlackBerry 10 Production

BlackBerry 10 new icons

With BlackBerry 10 devices expected to come in February it is no wonder that manufacturers have started working on it. Industry watcher Digitimes is reporting that “Taiwan-based handset component makers including Silitech Technology, Ichia Technologies as well as ODM Wistron are expected to begin small volume production of RIM’s BlackBerry 10-based products in December.” Supposedly RIM will source handset components like the chassis and keyboards from Silitech and Ichia with subcontracting assembly to Wistron.

Thanks Pete for the tip!

  1. I would hope for large volumes of BB10, not “small”.

  2. Yeah, what’s with the “small volumes”????? That doesn’t seem right. RIM should be planning for at least 10-12 million units per month for the first quarter! These babies will be in very high demand.
