RIM is really working to get as many gaming titles available for BlackBerry 10 at launch. They realize that when most people talk about wanting “apps” most of them are referring to games. With that in mind RIM is running another promotion going for quantity in App World. RIM has really lowered the bar it takes to port games to BlackBerry 10 and they are running the first “BlackBerry Got Game Port-a-Thon” starting Friday November 16th and lasting 36-hours. RIM will also have experts on hand to offer advice and lend their aid in this form of virtual Webcast help with the ability to go one on one with experts. Hell even if you don’t know if you want to port a game this is some quality time with top notch RIM resources!
The promotion for those submitting apps in App World during the Port-a-Thon is:
- Get one or two gaming apps approved – $100 per eligible app.
- Get between two and five gaming apps approved – $100 per eligible App and one (1) BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet
- Get between five and ten gaming apps approved – $100 per eligible App + one (1) BlackBerry PlayBook tablet + FOR THE FIRST ONE HUNDRED (100) QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS ONLY one (1) Dev Alpha Device
- Get more than 10 gaming apps approved – $100 per app + one (1) BlackBerry PlayBook tablet + FOR THE FIRST TEN (10) QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS ONLY one (1) Dev Alpha Device + trip to Game Developers Conference in San Francisco March 25-29, 2013
