Free PassWallet Brings Support for Passbook Mobile Tickets to BlackBerry Smartphones

In case you have missed some of Apple’s latest “ground breaking features” let me introduce you to Passbook. Apple’s new iOS 6 added an application called Passbook that centralizes and manages your mobile tickets, loyalty cards, and coupons. Essentially it just stores a few pieces of information along with a QRCode or barcode in a JSON file which is shown by Apple’s Passbook app. This information is usually passed along in emails as a PKPass standard file and is pretty easy to parse. Passbook on iOS just shows this information in a visually appealing manner. Magic right?

A little bit back Attido Mobile brought their PassWallet app to Android which allowed you to open these same PKPass files on your phone. Now noticed that PassWallet is also available for BlackBerry smartphones. I have not had a chance to try it out myself but if this sort of thing interests you check out PassWallet free in App World.

  1. it says “Passwallet unavailable for this device”

  2. no go on my playbook?????????????

  3. Since it says in title ‘Support for Balckberry Smartphones’ are you seriously asking that? and on app world site, says all models, except these two (9900/9930) strange. wish there was an ota link…..

  4. Apologies to the 9900/9930 users. During submission an error occurred when RIM tested on a 9900 device that we’ve been unable to reproduce.

If anyone is volunteering to help, send an email to “blackberry at” and we can send you a test build that will either work on your device or create a log file that will help us track down the issue.

  5. Tried it. Cant get it to work, i always get the browser that pop ups, cant add any cards. This is rubbisch folks, not available for playbook to (and no i dont want an android port) i was looking forward to test this but this is a huge bummer. Read the reviews on app world an you will see there are a lot of problems.

  6. After the install. I can click on passes and they do open. Do they get stored on the Berry?

  7. Hey thanks for making this app. I as well am having a bit of trouble, but i still apprecate the effort you are putting in. i hope you can get the bugs worked out, becuase this would be a really big step in the right direction for BB. Thanks for supporting us and good luck with this app.

  8. An updated version is here that should resolve the issue with the 9900s:

There’s also a basic ‘how to’ guide here:
