AT&T Rolls Out OS for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 & 9860

BlackBerry 7 Family Part 2

RIM has refreshed the OS on their BlackBerry Torch models today. Their new official OS is for both the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Torch 9860. I checked the 9900 and it is still sitting at but hopefully that will also soon get an update.

Check out the latest OS versions from AT&T at

Warning: This OS will NOT install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

  1. I loaded this yesterday on my 9810. So far it seems to be an improvement. The previous versions of 7.1 broke Gold Thumb Games and it’s nice to be able to play again. Also, you can edit the autotext again. It’s still too early to comment on battery life.

  2. Hoping that the 9900 will be next!
