BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) Coming to Dev Alpha This Month

According to the BlackBerry 10 Native beta SDK roadmap shown above, BBM is set to come to the BlackBerry Dev Alpha device this month. Also, spell-check will be included as well. Nonetheless, this update will allow developers to start implementing BBM development code to start creating their BBM-connected apps/games!RIM seems to be doing a great job at gradually allowing developers to be ready for the big BlackBerry 10 launch day.

Whilst its sad to see in-app payments being delayed, its nice to see so much more features being thrown into the mix! Is anyone here excited too? What else do you think they should and could add in?

  1. More core functions in the “Docs To Go” app. One of my biggest change would be to add “Track changes” Please!

  2. One thing to note here is that this is when the developer API will be provided – we don’t actually know if BBM itself will be included, or just the tools we need to start building with it.

  3. What about autotext? I love that BB feature. I REALLY miss it on the PlayBook!

  4. I hope with BB10, they make BBM universal, so that you can send a text to another phone if they do not have BBM.

  5. this is going to be great to see bbm on the alpha i wonder if it will be strip down.
