BlackBerry 10 Beta Gestures & Homescreen Shown Off On Video (June)

BlackBerry 10 Developer OS

I am not sure what took this video so long to surface but MacBerryde just posted what they call BlackBerry 10 OS developer secrets. It seems like this is coming from a demo session from RIM with RIM cutting it off in the end. The video is from June so the demo OS is quite a bit behind what RIM is showing carriers but still it gives us some nice visuals of the OS. You can still see the rough edges Thorsten Heins mentioned existed back then along with the way apps expand and minimize to the homescreen.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.

Kudos to Jeff for sending this one in via MacBerryde via CrackBerry.

  1. Love what I’m seeing so far. It is quick, responsive and effortless. Given that Apple has implenented the same lackluster improvements on the new Iphone 5 – (espescially because they will change the amount of the charging pins), I sense more people are ready to swich to BB10. Ronen, how do you access the menu option on BB10? I’ve seen how the access the tray options – Bottom left swipe up and how to access messages and other apps – right swipe. But, I have not seen how you access the menu options.

  2. From what I have seen its a couple dots on the bottom right or in the action menu you swipe in from the right

  3. That’s the ugliest clock I’ve ever seen. If the BB10 home screen isn’t more beautiful than WP8 then RIM’s in trouble fighting for third place. This video is underwhelming at best.

  4. I beg to differ. We must have been watching different videos. The Clock seemed realistic and the OS seemed smmoth and fluid – especially for a beta model. If RIMM can bring the big app names into this and market it well, they will have no problem getting back into the game.

  5. I am in the market for a new smart phone. I have been a BB fan for several years and am currently a Torch owner. Interested but not real impressed with what I have seen so far. Come on RIM get this info out ASAP. I want a dual processor, 4G, LTE etc. a November or December release may be to late for me to compete with Apple or Android products already out there.
