Devs: RIM Hits Record of 237+ Open Sourced Development Samples

Its amazing to see how far RIM has come in terms of embracing open source. Their Senior Director of opensource @pelegri announced on Twitter that they have hit 237+ open sourced development samples. That means it is that much easier to start development for BlackBerry with RIM providing examples for you to kickstart your project.

  2. Pushed it out last week. Still owe AlexKinsella a post for DevBlog on the Samples in general and the catalog.

    The JS+JSON organization is quite flexible. Any ideas or proposed extensions, fork, hack and send a pull request 🙂

    • I definitely will. One of the things I have always wanted to see RIM do more of is release sample apps that are actually complete projects. This lets developers pick apart actual projects to see how they are designed and thought out by RIM. In other words something more than just a simple one trick sample. They did something like this ages ago with an Emergency Contact List app and then a few others over the year but it has been off and on. What do you think?
