It is a little over a year and six months since RIM acquired The Astonishing Tribe (TAT) on December 2nd, 2010. RIM’s teams have welcomed TAT with open hands and you can see their design elements all over the PlayBook, BlackBerry 10, and even RIM’s website. Hell the new UI framework for native apps on BlackBerry 10, Cascades, is the byproduct of their original Cascades product.
This week TAT founder Hampus Jakobsson has announced via Twitter that he is leaving RIM. That is not surprising since most serial entrepreneurs do not like working for big companies for long. He explained on his new personal Twitter account, @hajak, that he left “cause I’m a startup-guy and even if I really liked the company and the people, I felt it was time to start another one.”
