Draft UI Guidelines for BlackBerry 10 Show Off User Interface

BB10 Design Guidelines2 BB10 Design Guidelines3

If I am not mistaken some of these draft UI guidelines were around before but Jetp (via pointed out to me that they have been updated. These UI guidelines are what RIM provides developers to help make sure BlackBerry 10 apps have a consistent look and feel. What is interesting is that RIM shows us more of how BlackBerry 10 will look in the UI guidelines though they are still a draft.

  1. Nice & slick! Still not sure if I like the home page with these 4 widgets. I need to know how customizable it is.

    • Yeah I am curious about that too. Not sure how I prefer that over icons.

      • On a BlackBerry phone you get 5 peak icons (4 torch) so that’s no different, except you actually get a semi-live of the 4 open apps.. Oh, and it was mentioned that if you have more than 4 open apps, you can scroll up and down on that screen, so it’s not just 4 semi-live apps. It’s not “customizable” as it’s your *open applications* and if you want you list of apps, you just slide to the left. Not to mention, most people have their messages app in their quick icons, which on BB10 Homescreen, you just slide right to get to your messages, BBM, everything, so that alone made up for the need of having that icon on quicklaunch ever. Trust me, this new design is great, much better than what BlackBerry currently and preferable over iphone and androids OS layout easily. Don’t fret my friends 🙂
