Official OS 7.1.0.569 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900, 9790, & Curve 9320

An official release of OS 7.1.0.569 is making its way across some carriers this week. The latest to get an update are the BlackBerry Bold 9900 (Claro DR) and Bold 9790 (Telstra) along with the Curve 9320 (Telstra). No word on what is new in these updates but it looks like a solid upgrade. You can download them from the links below:

Warning: This OS will NOT install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

  1. Hey guys,

not too sure if I’m doing something wrong but after downloading and installing the OS on my comp like I normally do, I can’t seem to get it going through Apploader.

    Here’s what I’ve done:
Program files>Common Files>RIM>Delete Vendor file>Apploader>Only thing that shows up are my list of applications

    Please advise.

    Thanks!!!

    • I haven’t had any problems running 7.1.0.267 no need for an upgrade. Maybe when telus releases a new version I will. Hate the trouble upgrading just to find out your going back to your last version.

    • Some firmware versions install more then one vendor file on your computer. Perfom a detailed search on your C:/ drive, including hidden and non-indexed files. It should find a second vendor.xml somewhere. Delete it and you will be able to see the upgrade.

  2. No veo la necesidad de hacer upgrade. Tuve problemas de tiempo de respuesta con mi actual version de OS 7 pero se debia a unas aplicaciones que descargue. Lo que hice desinstalarlas y voi la!

  3. Thank man its work just as u said..!!! @shumkar. preciate the efforts.

  4. blackberry suxks big time i have been using it since last bloddy 2 yrs….f-d up services—vodafone + blackberry is another fucked up combination—FONE HANGS EVERY MIN….ALL THE TIME ERRORS (RIM CAUGHT AN ERROR) S-T IT IS…..will never ever go for it again

  5. A lot of people complain about BB crashing, freezing etc, my experience has taught me that those are the same people that download a lot of crap, they dont worry about firmware updates.
If one was to use blackberry for what it was intended for, office away from the office, credible social media, then all complaints would dimish.
If one wants a multimedia device one needs to consider, Android or IOS. Bear in mind that all operating systems have their flaws that can be easily managed if one knows why they are comitting to an OS.

Turn work into play and vice versa then you shall crasp the true concept of living.

    Warm Regards
    MJ
