As we guessed RIM is using the new BlackBerry Desktop Manager in the Beta Zone to roll out a new OS update to the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha. If you are one of the lucky ones with a Dev Alpha you need to go get the latest desktop manager software from the beta zone and do a wired update. This is similar to what what we had to do when RIM released the unbricking OS earlier.
Check out the full instructions over here on RIM’s website

Lots of us can’t update. I wonder if it’s an America only update for now.

@interfaSys : I got my Alpha Device at the Berlin BB Jam, so it´s not an “America only”-update.
try the troubleshooting-method:
https://developer.blackberry.com/blackberry10devalphas/update#troubleshooting
Then it will find the update….

Thanks. I just saw that other people outside of America got their update, but there are quite a few of us stuck with 10.0.4.188.
None of the troubleshooting methods work. There is also a thread on BB beta with lots of people stuck with the old version.

When will a version of this come out that can be tried on the playbook. They claim it will be going to the playbook when it comes out.
