Nobex Radio Engineer Shares Thoughts On Cascades & BlackBerry 10

Nobex Radio BlackBerry 10

Nobex Radio has long been one of the best streaming radio solutions for BlackBerry and many other platforms. That is why I found it very reassuring to read an editorial by Nobex Radio Chief Software Architect, Jamie Julius, on Cascades development for BlackBerry 10. When compared to traditional BlackBerry Java development it is stunning to hear a developer gushing about Cascades and its capabilities. This is definitely a tide RIM has turned with BlackBerry 10 and it gives me a good feeling about BlackBerry 10’s success.

If you are a developer thinking of creating native C++ apps for BlackBerry 10 then definitely check out Julius’s writeup on the RIM DevBlog. Otherwise you can simply enjoy the screenshot of an early build of Nobex Radio running on BlackBerry 10. :)

  1. It is nice to see real developers with real products praising the BB 10 and it’s potential. I have a PB and I canno wait till the phones come out in January of 2013 (I hope)

  2. While it’s nice to hear, it’s sort of ‘buried’ on RIM’s site (where only RIM fans are likely to go anyway). They should really be getting quotes from these guys and other developers they’ve highlighted into newspapers, magazines and tech sites. Third party testimonials will do a lot to turn around negative perceptions in North America.
