TripAdvisior has travelled into augmented reality land this week with a new app powered by Wikitude. The free new app allows BlackBerry OS 7.0+ owners to explore the world around them using TripAdvisors data. It requires you to have Wikitude installed since it uses their engine to show you the ratings and reviews for restaurants, hotels, attractions and more. It packs over 60 million traveler reviews into your pocket.
Check out TripAdvisor Augmented Reality free in App World. I just wish I could use it when I go to Italy next month though I am sure the roaming charges would be exorbitant.

While this is a great idea for an app this simply is nothing more than a launcher that opens up Wikitude and goes right to the TripAdvisor section that’s already built into the Wikitude application. It’s just as easy to open Wikitude and select the TripAdvisor link and you are good to go.

Hi just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know
a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
