Kevin over @CrackBerry has been helping RIM with their efforts in getting RIM’s side of the story out today. RIM has been hitting the media hard with interviews and an Op-Ed from their CEO and now Kevin just posted up an audio interview with RIM’s new Executive VP of Global Sales. Rick Costanzo (@rickcostanzo) just took over the job held by Patrick Spence previously and has been with RIM since 1999 right before BlackBerry launched. He had some really pragmatic things to say including his answer to what he thinks about the BlackBerry 10 launch date delay:
"We have one opportunity to get BlackBerry 10 launched properly, and we’re going to get it right. This is not just a handset OS. There’s a car component to this. There is an embedded component. This is a platform and we’re putting the plumbing in place to connect to cars and OEM. You gotta get it right and it’s hugely complex. We’ll come out extremely strong next year a with a fully-baked product."
I would highly recommend heading over the CrackBerry and listening to the whole audio interview. Let us know if you spot any more press spots RIM hit today.
