Thorsten Heins dropped a few notable items about the BlackBerry PlayBook during the BlackBerry investors call. First of all he confirmed that the 4G BlackBerry PlayBook is in the final stages of being released and should be available in the near future though not definite timetable was set. He also mentioned that RIM has sold out their stock of the 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook in favor of only carrying the 32GB and 64GB models. He also noted that shipments of the PlayBook came in at 260,000 for the past quarter with thousands of new BlackBerry PlayBook apps in App World with more to come.
It should be interesting to see when the 4G BlackBerry PlayBook launches since it supposedly brings BBM support which many PlayBook users would welcome along with other improvements.

Some carriers are testing the new units already for final sign off on their part.

He said it is in the final stages of testing with select carriers so I agree we should be able to see for ourselves soon.
