It has been awhile since we saw a big jump in official OS versions for the 9900 but thanks to AIS Thialand we have one. Mackie let us know (via BerryShout) that AIS Thailand has just released OS 7.1.0.523 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. No word on what is new but if you were waiting for an official version here is your chance.
Download OS 7.1.0.523 for the Bold 9900 @BlackBerry.com
Warning: This OS will NOT install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable.

In this version there are new battery saving features. Some option that disable active programs that work in background and drain the battery….

This OS works pretty fine except that for Radio coverage as the signal is so weak. I tried to copy other UMTS in order to fix this and had to restore Device Analyser CODs from 428 version, the rest works quite good.
