I love the flexibility of being able to transfer files to my BlackBerry over Wi-Fi. I am currently using the Wi-Fi server in Fixmo Tools that is free during RIM’s current promotion for BlackBerry 7 devices. Jason let me know that there is another alternative called Wi-Fi File Transfer from Amaira Soft. It lets you simply setup a Wi-Fi file server on your BlackBerry smartphone and access the files from your browser including pictures and video as long as they are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Check out Wi-Fi File Transfer free in App World for OS 5.0+ devices

I installed WiFi Transfer on my Bold 9000. It says to enter a ftp:// address to my browser. How do I do that? On the Bold or on my PC?

You type it into your browser, the app works well

My experience with both the Fixmo and the FileScout WiFi Transfer protocols is that they work great to move files from the phone to a PC, but they do not allow transfer of files from the PC to the Phone. Of course if I’m missing something, I’d appreciate the correction. Does this one facilitate PC-to-Phone transfer?

Well just read the AppWorld description and it looks to be just another Phone-to-PC program.
