Viber is hugely popular internationally and they have been working on a BlackBerry client for awhile now. They just let us know this morning that they have released the first public beta of their BlackBerry client. Keep in mind that this beta initially only offers Viber Messaging which allows you to send text and picture messages. Here is how they describe it:
Both Viber for BlackBerry Beta and Viber for Windows Phone 7 Beta initially offer Viber Messaging, allowing users to exchange text and high-quality photo messages and share locations with other Viber users. Viber seamlessly integrates with the devices’ interface, instantly identifying existing contacts who already have Viber installed so users do not need to go through a “friend request” process. The full release for both platforms, including Viber’s signature HD-quality free voice calling, will be released as soon as it meets Viber’s quality standards.
In other words we have to wait for voice calling. I am just hoping they are ready at launch for BlackBerry 10 support! Viber for BlackBerry Beta runs on BlackBerrys with OS 5.0+ and you can get it in App World or directly or get redirected from Viber at www.viber.com/blackberry.

The Item is not available for your Device Model, Device OS, Carrier and Country combination.
I live in Italy my carrier is WIND and my OS is : 4.6.1 . Yes, I’ve been trying to update my OS but it seems that I have the lastest one!

Viber requires BlackBerry OS 5 or higher. You OS is 4.6 so unless you upgrade your OS, you will not be able to use viber and other latest blackberry apps.

It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber’s traffic.
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled (“forwarded”) on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer)

the solution is very simple.
Turn off the phone.
take out the battery,
re-insert the battery,
the phone will re-start, and you can then send messages.
the problem will correct by just doing the above.

I downloaded Viber on my Berry and started with the whole setup process untill I get to the Access Code bit….It does not want to accept the code, I then requested new code, got that and it still keep saying…..Enter the 4 digit code you received via SMS…….
