Alec went on stage to show that RIM wants quality apps in App World compared to other ecosystems that are flooded with junk apps. RIM is rolling out a new certification program for a nominal fee that will be run by a totally independent third party that certifies the quality of an app. Apps that have this certification who have earned at least $1,000 on their own and then receive certification will then receive a guarantee from RIM. That guarantee says that they will earn at least $10,000 or RIM will cut them a check themselves.
RIM has not released all the details but expect more soon!

I’m game for this. I just hope they do some pruning of currently listed apps, especially listed for the playbook.

That’s what I have hoped RIM do for some time. Good job, Mr. Saunders!
