BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK Released Built on C/C++ With Monthly Updates Coming

The last of the tool updates for today for developers is a new BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK. This new update brings BlackBerry 10 support and more API’s. Until now BlackBerry PlayBook WebWorks was built on top of Adobe AIR but now it is built on C/C++ so it is native! The packager is now reimplemented in pure javascript so it no longer needs Java JDK installed. Lots of APIs are now available and you will see more coming with RIM providing monthly API updates.

  1. Nice to see that it will finally be very easy to release cross-platform apps since RIM is now using a similar bootstrap to Phonegap and will even align their API’s signatures.
