BlackBerry 10 Keyboard With Gestures & Word Completion

Thorsten just demoed the new onscreen keyboard coming in BlackBerry 10. It has the classic BlackBerry frets along with autocomplete. There are gestures coming to add hyphenated characters. The auto complete shows up above the next word as you are typing and you can just swipe it back to the screen. They also let you swipe away words you don’t want in the future. Its an adaptive touch keyboard that adapts to your style of typing.

  1. World Completion????? or WORD 😉

  2. This works well for simple phrases, but I’m not sure die-hard keyboard fans will be satisfied. The word selection at the top is quite limited. Wait and see 🙂

  3. Very nice feature.

  4. I am a huge physical keyboard fan but I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be around. With technology like this and screen real estate being at such a premium, its tough for RIM to justify them. I LOVE the keyboard on my 9900 but can’t wait to try this predictive text swiping stuff. The more I can feel like I’m Tom Cruise on Minority Report, the better. 😀
