Porsche Design P’9981 users were left out of recent OS 7.1 updates. We heard they were coming soon and now they have been released courtesy of Mobily. They have version 7.1.0.342 available at the link below listed as the BlackBerry Bold 9981.

Warning: This OS will NOT install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. I have a P9981. I downloaded this and installed the os on the pc. The folder created in C:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\applications\loader files\9981M_v7.1.0.342_P5.1.0.276 is not seen as an os for the phone by bbsak or dm. I have done this on two pcs. This is definitely where the folder resides as when you cut it away bbsak has blank under os installed on pc
