Free Advanced OS & LED Utility v12 Released with Contacts Manager & More

Contacts Manager LED Wallpaper Feature

One of our favorite free BlackBerry utilities just got a nice update to v12.0.3 this weekend. We have mentioned the app a few times and it keeps on getting better thanks to Sultan Al Sooz and the price remains totally free. This updates main new feature is a Contacts Manager that allows you to export your contacts to a spreadsheet to be imported into Gmail or Outlook. You can also merge duplicate contacts, backup and restore, and move contacts to the default list. The crazy part is that is just one of the features in the app.

The new v12 includes the following improvements:

  • Added Contacts Manager feature to export to (excel & Gmail & MS outlook), merge duplicate contacts, backup and restore all contacts with their photos, move contacts to default list.
  • Added homescreen multi-wallpaper feature, to change your background picture everytime you turn the screen on.
  • Redesigned add new numbers feature much easier (no more copy and paste).
  • Added convenience side key action in ilaunch custom actions, for launching multiple custom actions at once.
  • You can now change the spacebar homescreen shortcut key to other keys.
  • App now supports all contact lists, not just the default one.
  • Improved Custom App LED capturing by providing more information when customizing new apps LED. 8- LED Mode will always be mutli-led.
  • Added option to send app backup to email account directly after taking a backup.
Actually, there are few more small changes, like battery and speed improvements as well, bbm popup has been optimized and small bug fixes, enjoy 🙂

If you are a hardcore BlackBerry user I highly recommend the update though there are features in Advanced OS & LED that all users will appreciate. You can pick up Advanced OS and LED free in App World. Also keep tabs on the latest updates at

  1. Nice post 🙂

Berryreview site supported my app when it was still in its early stages, i really appreciate the support you have showed my app Ronen.

If my app was paid, i would have insisted that you always get a free copy 🙂

    Many thanks.

  2. it is doable, however it will be consuming extra battery, since the bb OS doesnt notify apps when cell info changes, i would have to pull this info every 20 seconds to check if cell id has changed.

however, it is much better than using GPS which is a battery killer 😉

will look into it and see what i can do 🙂

    • If you do the wifi option possibly make it so that you can turn that option off. I personally don’t like wifi apps. They drain batteries so baaaaad.

  3. How about links in within contacts? I am all the time adding new contacts, but would like to add just basic (phone #, e-mail), and then start typing company/business the person works for/is associated with, and since I already that company/business already as a contact, then it it allows me to link that field to the company/business contact [I already have as a contact]. It would save me a lot of time (entering data, copy/pasting, etc.).
