We have seen several images in the past of BBM running on an Android that have either been Photoshop or hard to determine if they were real. The latest batch of images looks to be running on a Android device with a resolution of 320×240.
The new rumor states that it will finally launch this year, as part of the mobile fusion that RIM launched for companies to manage Android, and iOS devices. Sure the rumor would seem to add more credibility, but I sure doubt that is the case. Though, anything is possible with RIM looking to change course. Personally I believe BBM should stay only on BlackBerry as it is something unique that only BlackBerry users have. There is already at ton of cross platform messenger apps, as Brent Rose from Gizmodo who said it best in “we need another messenger app like we need extra nipples. The images sure look realistic, and they could be since am sure RIM has many products they are testing internally, but whether they actually release it, is another question.
How would you feel about Android users having BBM on Android, would we react the same childish ways as i-users saying #Eww, when Instagram became available for Android?

That was my very first thought as well completely ignoring the actual post on BBM on Android. My thoughts would be however is to keep it on BlackBerry as mentioned it is part of its uniqueness.

What is this…… This so fake……. Fixing bugs.. In looking at my 9810 BBM screen and it looks exactly the same. The screen resolution doesn’t even match the resolution phone. You don’t develop the app with the wrong size and start debugging ( as far as I know)

If BBM isn’t strictly for BBusers only….then it is no longer BBM. And BBM is another very strong reason why I’ve remained a BB consumer.
