The Dingleberry PlayBook jailbreaking team has been promising v4.0 for awhile to jailbreak the latest PlayBook OS 2.0 retail build but it has not materialized. A few of our readers pointed out to us that the Dingleberry change log now says that v4.0 is officially cancelled. I am not sure if this is because the team could not find another exploit to gain root access or some other reason but I am sure RIM’s BBSIRT is glad to hear it.
On another interesting note the Dingleberry team has released the source code for their project.

do you think they released their source code to try and get more people to help them find an exploit… meaning there arent any they can find now.

That’s my guess, too. Otherwise. Why do it?
