  1. Found out you must upgrade and a subscription in order to continue beta testing for this music program! Is this right? What a joke? They expect me to pay additional fees on top of my three bb plans just to help beta test? I don’t think so

  2. This seems like a neat service, and I will be interested to see if it takes off. There are already many cloud music services available for mobile users, but this one comes at a low price tag and integrates into Blackberry’s killer feature, BBM. Alternatively, a user might buy this AND a service like Spotify – no reason the two can’t exist together.

  3. I really think they have to really need to re aul BBM music in order to compete with services such as spotify, panoramic and slacker. They should start with. They should add a broader song selection and make the service free with ads. They should also allow you to download songs to your media card and maybe throw in selection of BBMs (like the Black Eyed Peas etc.) for people who do not have BBM contacts.

    • So far the only ones I haven’t found are very small indie bands, though I’ve heard others haven’t found a few artists they wanted as well.

The free with ads service might work well as a lower tier option. Its quite premium compared to slacker though, as I can select exactly what I want to listen to and when plus make playlists of whatever I want, as opposed to slacker which is a random stream unless you pay for the premium.

You can download the songs to your SD card, no problems.

You also don’t need to have a single BBM contact if you dont want to. I have 480 contacts currently on BBM Music and only 5 of them are on my BBM contact list. This is definitely a misconception that RIM would do well to clear up the misinformation.
