FileScout Free Wi-Fi File Sharing Plugin Released!

FileScout Wifi sharing

EmacBerry let us know that they have released the Wi-Fi File Sharing Plugin that we told you was coming. That means you can now download FileScout on your BlackBerry smartphone and then download the free Wi-Fi file sharing plugin from the options menu in the app as long as you have the latest v2.9.0.5. This lets you upload and download files to and from your BlackBerry smartphone from any modern desktop browser on the same Wi-Fi network.

To get the plugin once you have installed FileScout from App World or directly:

  1. Start FileScout
  2. Open the Options
  3. Select ‘WiFi-Sharing Options’
  4. Press the ‘Install Plugin’ Button

  1. This is a great addition to the functionality of FileScout.

If you also use LittleBrother (another emacberry.com app), you can now:

    1) Automatically turn on your WiFi radio when you arrive home (based upon cell tower ID); and

    2) Automatically start the WiFi file server on your device once connected to your home network (based upon SSID).

When you leave home, both the WiFi radio and file server can automatically be disabled. The two apps nicely complement each other.
