I mentioned yesterday that I was on the hunt for a solid SSH client for my PlayBook. As I told you yesterday their is a native port of the popular PuTTy opensource client for the PlayBook but the dev who ported it is charging $4.99 for the pleasure. @Oleg_Bolshakov suggested an alternative of using the popular open source ConnectBot Android SSH client and porting it to the PlayBook. He pointed out a thread on a Russian forum (Google Translate) where Vladimir Mahilev did just that and shared the BAR file for anyone to sideload.
Personally I am not sure how many of you can trust an SSH client from an unknown Russian website but you can always convert the APK for yourself. Let us know how it works for you if you do try it!
PS: If you don’t mind paying somebody for porting it for you then check out BSSH which is a port of ConnectBot for the PlayBook for $0.99 in App World
