T-Mobile has officially made OS 7.1 available for both the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9810. The OS brings quite a few features you been waiting for. My favorite is Wi-Fi calling. Note that if you are using Wi-Fi calling and you step too far from the signal your call will drop unlike the old UMA technology where it would hand off the call to the wireless network. You can download the OS by pointing your browser directly to the T-Mobile webpage at this link and select your device.
You can also do the upgrade over the air but if you are running a beta OS it may not work.
- Wi-Fi Calling
- Mobile HotSpot/USB tethering: (I was recently told by T-Mobile that with my 5GB plan I don’t have to pay extra like the other carriers may try to make you do.
- Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS): A personalized emergency alert system designed to alert people of nearby threats or emergencies.
- BBM Music
- Bing search
- BlackBerry Device Analyzer with this you can use it to analyze your device battery drains, network, GPS, and much more.
