We have been hearing bits and pieces about an upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook Mini Keyboard for awhile now and it looks like it might finally be coming. N4BB scored a spec sheet for the device which is similar to what we showed you before. The difference is we now have a $119 MSRP price (80 GBP and 99 Euro) along with a few more details and a picture of the case combo. TheSource in Canada is also accepting preorders for the keyboard/mouse/case combo with an expected ship date of March 23rd. That is in no way official but its fits well with what we have heard from other sources.
Anybody else waiting to pick up one of these devices? TheSource has it for a preorder special of $99 after which they say it will be going up in price to $119.

I love the keyboard, trackpad, case combo…. but I’m a little disappointed in the $100+ price tag, considering I just picked up a Microsoft 6000 bluetooth keyboard for $30 from Amazon. The one bad thing is that it doesn’t have trackpad to move the cursor… but you can still arrow through your text, etc. And the keyboard is relatively normal size… which is also nice.

I’d rather just get a Jorno…
https://jornostore.com/
Otherwise I’d like one that actually docks to the PB, not just a bluetooth keyboard.

Jorno looks good – but RIM’s has a touchpad built in – making this way more useful than a standalone keyboard. Especially for using connected to a TV where your PlayBook isn’t necessarility within reach.

Also assuming you don’t have a bb phone though, since you can bridge remote anyhow.

Do you think they will sell the keyboard on its own? I already have a convertible case and do not require another nor like the one that comes with the BT keyboard as I believe it has a kick stand. I would like the BT keyboard/track pad on its own.
I did purchase and use the HP BT keyboard and the size is good, but the PB BT keyboard would be ideal when traveling and if it sold for $50 on its own, not a bad deal.

I doubt they are breaking down the cost as $50 keyboard $50 case…
They’d still probably charge something like ~$70 for the keyboard by itself if they sold it separate.

I just bought a Playbook last week. I almost sent it back because I wasn’t use to how it acts or performs. I changed my mind before I sent it back and now I see this cool keyboard case is coming so I Pre-ordered one. A little off topic but I come from first an iPad1/2 and then Acer Iconia A500 Android tablet. The Playbook has a very professional fit and feel to it that I was not used to. The OS is so intuitive that it seemed almost too easy to use. I have been devoting a lot of attention to it over the last few days and like it more every day. I almost wish I had it before OS 2 so that I could see how it has changed. I know not to expect from it what the other tablets do. What it does, it does very well!
