Forward Thinking Apps Releases Free SimpleVNC PlayBook App

The developers of the popular Simple Browser for the PlayBook, Forward Thinking Apps, has just released their first version of SimpleVNC for the PlayBook. This new app is a VNC client that allows you to control your computer remotely using VNC. Their description says that SimpleVNC is currently in rapid development and “will be changing greatly over the next 60 days” which is promising.

I have not had a chance to try it myself due to some PC issues but if you have been looking for a VNC solution you may want to check out SimpleVNC free in App World.

Planned features for future releases include:

  • Ability to have multiple connections at once.
  • Store multiple VNC connection profiles.
  • Full Mac OSX support.
  • Full Bluetooth mouse and keyboard support.

  1. I’d be curious to see a comparison between this and the other VNC offerings for the Playbook. I haven’t been thrilled with any of them so far. Hopefully this one fills in the gaps the others have.

  2. I tried it out and so far it looks like it lacks more than the other VNC apps. However, since they claim to be in rapid development, I’ll keep an eye out for what they do with it in the future.

  3. How does it work, can you put a step by step guide or something
    i would be really interested
