bbFTP FTP Client for the BlackBerry PlayBook (Android Player)

bbftp bbftp2

I have seen a few sideload options for FTP on the PlayBook but JManso just ported their Android FTP client for the PlayBook. It lets you easily connect and transfer files between your PlayBook and the FTP server of your choice. It lets you browse the device on one side and the server on the other. You can also queue up transfers and monitor the queue.

Features include:

  • FTP Account Manager: You can save the access credentials of a FTP server and identify it with a given name.
  • Dual File Explorer: You can explore both file systems (Device and FTP server) from the same screen.
  • bbFTP have a transfer progress screen where you can observe in which state is your current transfer and the queue (how many files have been transfered and the number of remaining files).
  • Main operations:
    – Create new directories.
    – Delete directories.
    – Get file properties.
    – Rename files and directories.
    – Transfer (Upload/Download) files and directories (recursively)

You can find bbFTP in App World for a very reasonable $0.99

  1. This is not a native app. It is an Android app.

  2. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure how they confused that 🙂
