Just as we expected BlackBerry Bridge v2.0.0.25 is now available through App World at this link. This means that PlayBook OS 2.0 is just hours away from going live. RIM in the past has released updates for BlackBerry Bridge within a day of releasing an update for the PlayBook. If is not showing up simply type alt+rst and it should clear the cache on your app world. It may take a while for everyone to receive the update, specially since many will try to download at the same time. Thanks to Terrence for the screenshots, and @AgentBlackBerry for the tip.
New Features:
- Use your smartphone’s keyboard, trackpad and touchscreen to remotely control your PlayBook
- Open attachments, files and Browser URLs directly on your PlayBook Tablet from your BlackBerry Smartphone menu
- Copy/Paste from anywhere in your BlackBerry Bridge PlayBook apps
- Use device Properties menu to turn on and Off BlackBerry Bridge email calendar, and address book accounts
- Improve stability with multiple apiring and connectivity bug fixes
- Various UX improvements
- Note: Bridge Remote control feature requires BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0 to be installed on your Tablet
So who is staying up all night to wait for the BlackBerry PlayBook OS update?

I have downloaded bridge and I have my alarm set for 5:00 so I have time to download and play before work tomorrow. Very excited, I really hope 2.0 is there as we all think it will be!!

yes works on 1.0.8! A little trouble getting the swipes from bottom and top, side swipes easy. Cool!

Remote control is cool, but like Kiddo said, swiping up and down in app list can be tricky.

Curious, should ATT continue to stay away from these updates because of the disabled browser bridging?

Don’t know about that, but the bridge browser is now gone after the bridge update.

Anyone know why they’ve removed Bridge Browser?
I found it useful because sometimes I preferred to use phone data via Bridge Browser than wifi data via Browser.
Also – conversely, I could be sure that when using wifi in Browser I could stream data which my phone plan does not provide for.

What do you mean? Ever sinceit was possible, it would only use phone data if the wifi was turned off or not available. In fact, hadn’t used bridge browser since.

Because my phone plan doesn’t include streaming I’m careful to only use Browser when streaming and only do thhis when I have wifi on.
However – sometimes I preferred to use phone plan data (whilst wifi was on) and so used bridge browser for internet access.

I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, can’t wait. I noticed on crackberry that the new bridge will pair with your computer and you can use the remote function on your bb to control your pc; Pretty frigging wicked.

Well, this remote thing is a nice gimmick, but it’s pretty unusable in reality…
I just did a test with BBM. It’s impossible to fix the spelling on the 9900 by tapping on words because it switches to mouse mode and you can’t fix it on the PlayBook either, even though words are underlined. This is a major disappointment with the spell checker engine.
Even worse, what was printed on the PlayBook was totally different than what was printed on the phone because fixed words were not transmitted, only the key presses and since the language in use was different, the PlayBook didn’t fix them automatically.

Could be the language thing because I did do a spell check thing through the phone. It’s day one we need to be a bit patient.
Honestly the phone thing is a bit of a gimmick. With the new PlayBook keyboard I don’t see using the phone keyboard much.

Yeah, it’s day one, but I feel RIM underdelivered in the PB dpt. I won’t talk about it here because this thread is about the bridge and it seems to work quite well. It’s on the PB end that there are major issues to fix.

Hmmm… the mouse doesn’t work in WebWorks apps… Wondering if it’s purely because it sends click instead of tap events (which would be silly).
